Residential Recycling

CASE STUDY: Village of Lockland

The Village of Lockland is a small community taking recycling into their own hands. Until recently, the village’s 3,500 residents were unable to recycle their waste. Thanks to the initiative of Village employees, Lockland now has a 24-hour recycling drop-off. The recycling drop-off is located in the Village parking lot and accepts newspapers, magazines, phone books, grocery bags, plastic bottles, aluminum and steel cans, and glass bottles and jars.

Lockland recycling drop-off

The Village’s recycling program has become a great success within the community, achieved through collaboration with local schools and promotion of the new drop-off to residents. During the first six months of operation, the Village of Lockland recycled over 33 tons of material.
