Residential Recycling
CASE STUDY: Village of Lockland
The Village of Lockland is a small community taking recycling into their
own hands. Until recently, the village’s 3,500 residents were unable
to recycle their waste. Thanks to the initiative of Village employees,
Lockland now has a 24-hour recycling drop-off. The recycling drop-off
is located in the Village parking lot and accepts newspapers, magazines,
phone books, grocery bags, plastic bottles, aluminum and steel cans,
and glass bottles and jars.

The Village’s recycling program has become a great success within
the community, achieved through collaboration with local schools and
promotion of the new drop-off to residents. During the first six months
of operation, the Village of Lockland recycled over 33 tons of material.
