Our mission at the Office of the Federal Environmental Executive is to promote sustainable environmental stewardship throughout the Federal government. To do this, we work with Federal agencies to continuously improve their environmental stewardship.

Our efforts focus on:

• Promoting the Federal government's implementation of environmental management systems; and
• Integrating environmental considerations, such as waste prevention, recycling and “green” buying programs, into the government's day-to-day operations.
