Energy

Solar power is a feature in some post offices around the USA, and this is a trend that will increase in coming years. The nation's largest federal solar roof system is in Marina del Ray, California. It's on top of a USPS building and can generate enough electricity to power 120 homes! This reduces emissions so much that it's like planting over 200-thousand trees. Wow - that's really cool!!!!

Geothermal energy

USPS also uses another type of alternative energy - geothermal energy. Deep wells and heat exchangers transfer the Earth's heat from underground to the surface.

Geothermal Energy Technology

With this technology, post offices like the one in Lincoln, Nebraska, are nice and warm inside when the temperature outside is very cool!!!!
