Inkjet Cartridge Recycling
Many
homes and offices use inkjet cartridges in computer printers.Empty cartridges
are usually thrown in the trash and end up in a landfill. The
Postal Service in the Great Lakes Area has set up an Inkjet Cartridge
Recycling program that protects the environment and helps customers recycle.
Working with an industry partner, a display box has been placed in each
Great Lakes Area Post Office. Customers see the display, take the free,
postage-paid mailer bags and mail their used cartridges for recycling.
Since September 2000, over 300,000 cartridges have been mailed and more
than 140,000 have been re-manufactured.
