Introduction

“The USPS is the world's largest and most efficient mail delivery
system. In the United States alone, we have thousands of employees who
collect, transport, process, and deliver 670 million pieces of mail every
day to 137 million addresses all across the country. We also deliver
almost half of the entire world's mail - and this requires a lot of people
and resources.”

The USPS understands that sustainability is about using resources wisely
so that future generations have enough. We take great effort to cause
as little harm to the environment as possible and we have implemented
a number of programs that reduce, reuse, recycle and rethink our use of
resources and their impact on the environment.
When you think about how big the USPS is, this is one large step towards
a more sustainable planet.
