Group discussions and interactions
The range of purpose should include:

• investigating, selecting, sorting;
• planning predicting, exploring;
• explaining, reporting, evaluating.

Reading
The range should include:

• print and ICT-based reference and information materials.
• newspapers, magazines, articles, leaflets etc.

Mathematics Key Stage 2

Using and applying handling data.

Pupils should be taught to:

• select and use handling data skills when solving problems in other areas of the curriculum.

Processing, representing and interpreting data
Pupils should be taught to:

• interpret tables, lists and charts used in everyday life.
• draw conclusions from statistics and graphs.
