Organisations we proudly support in other countries
Access Foundation - Ghana
Sustain Ability International has recently been able to extend
a helping hand to Access Foundation-Ghana in Africa. Access Foundation
is a registered organisation concerned with improving social welfare
and promoting environmental preservation in villages and communities
across Ghana.
Access Foundation recently received a donation of Ollie Saves
the Planet and Ollie Recycles CD ROMS and T-shirts. With a further
contribution of written materials from the Gould League in Victoria,
we were also able to include educational magazines and textbooks
covering environmental issues.
The Director of Access Foundation-Ghana, Timothy Adzrakor, says: “Ghana's
quest to exploit its natural resources for socio-economic development
has given rise to a lot of environmental problems including deforestation,
desertification, soil degradation and water pollution. The focus
of Access Foundation has been to draw public attention to these
and mobilise public support for the preservation of the environment.
We do this by organising programmes to sensitise the youth about
the need to preserve the environment; and advocating for environmentally-friendly
co-operative production systems.”
The work of Access Foundation will soon be extended to other African
countries, and Ollie Saves the Planet is proud to be a supporter
of their work.
