Plastic Recycling Tips

  • Wash all plastic containers before recycling.
  • Remove any lids so that the containers can be easily squashed for transportation.
  • Number codes on plastic containers identify the type of plastic. Some community recycling programs collect all plastic containers, while others may collect only certain types of containers or certain codes. Contact your local recycling program officer to find out which plastics can be recycled in your area.
