Watch out for pests like rats and mice living in the compost bin. Ask an adult to do something about it.

Sick plants can have molds and germs. Avoid putting these in a compost bin as the molds and germs might spread.

Dog and cat manure may spread germs in a compost bin. Only use manure from plant-eating animals, like horses and sheep.
