Composting Safely

Household garden composting is usually very safe.

Critters like worms, beetles, bugs, spiders, and other creepy-crawlies often like to hang around your garden and your compost bin. Plant eating creatures are harmless. Watch out for some spiders.

Too many meat scraps, fats, oils or dairy products can cause lots of undesirable flies, as well as really bad smells, and also slows down the composting process.
