Population in Australia

The population of Australia has more than doubled in the last fifty years, going from just over 8 million to more than 19 million. Although Australia is a very large continent, a lot of our land is too hot and too dry to support many people. 75% of Australian land can’t support normal farms. More than 85% of the people who live in Australia live in our big cities and towns.
