Interesting Plastic Facts, continued

  • Over 276 million HDPE plastic milk bottles are collected and recycled every year in Australia – this is about half of all the HDPE milk bottles produced.
  • Plastic packaging is light in weight, reducing fuel consumption for transportation. Many cars are now built using a lot of plastic too, reducing their weight and the amount of fuel they use.
