Plastic Recycling Tips

  • Wash all plastic containers before recycling.
  • Remove any lids so that the recyclables can be squashed into the truck.
  • Number codes on plastic containers identify the type of plastic. Most councils in Australia recycle plastics with codes 1, 2, 3 and 5. Some councils collect all plastic containers and are working towards recycling a greater number of plastics. Contact your local council to find out which plastics can be recycled in your area.
