Watch out for pests like rats and mice living in the compost bin. Ask an adult to do something about it.

Sick plants can have moulds and germs. Avoid putting these in a compost bin as the moulds and germs might spread.

Dog and cat manure may spread some germs in a compost bin. Only use manure from plant- eating animals, like horses and sheep.
