In Your Community
There are lots of things you can do in your community to improve your
local environment. Use this step-by-step guide to get you started.
1. Get In Touch
Decide on an issue that concerns you, and then get in touch with an organisation
that is involved in that issue. Some local places you might like to try
to get more information include:
- Schools, TAFEs and Universities
- Your State Department of Natural Resources and the Environment
- State and National Parks headquarters
- Local councils
- Youth groups or church groups
- Sporting or outdoors groups, like bushwalking or bike riding clubs
- Libraries
- Girl guides and scout groups
- Local environmental organisations
- Community centres, community farms and community gardens
