Animal
Health Alliance (Australia) Ltd is the voice of the animal health
industry in Australia representing the interests of registrants,
manufacturers and formulators of animal health products in Australia.
The
Australian Coal Association (ACA) is the industry body representing
the interests of the black coal producers in New South Wales and
Queensland, the states that produce 98% of Australia's black coal.
A major objective of the ACA is to promote and facilitate the uptake
of clean coal technologies in Australia.
The
Australian Water Association (AWA) is a not-for-profit organisation
with an overarching mission "to promote the sustainable management
of water". Operating since 1962, AWA is Australia’s
largest not-for-profit water resource focussed association with
well over 4,000 members of which 750 are corporate or utility members.clean
Since
1951 the Department of Wool & Animal Science at the University
of New South Wales had been the only Australian Tertiary institution
to provide comprehensive specialist training in wool and textile
science and technology. For this reason, it was the major source
of graduates employed in wool marketing and technology industries and in related research.
Australian
Wool Innovation Limited (AWI) is a research and development corporation
funded by Australian woolgrowers and the Australian government.
Their mission is to drive research, development and innovation
that will increase the long-term profitability of Australian woolgrowers.
CropLife
Australia represents the registrants, manufacturers, formulators,
suppliers and distributors of plant science solutions for use in
agriculture and the management of pests in other settings.
The
Australian dairy industry is one of the country’s most important
food and export industries, valued at $3.2 billion in 2003/04.
It is the largest value-added food industry, which means taking
raw materials and adding value through a variety of processes,
to create a range of products, from pasteurised drinking milk to
specialty cheeses and dairy desserts.
The
Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) is one of ten
departments within the Victorian Public Service. It was established
in 2002 to bring together all of the State’s responsibilities
for sustainability of the natural and built environment.
The
seafood industry is Australia’s fourth most valuable food-based
primary industry with a landed value of more than $2 billion
a year. More than 3.5 million Australians recreationally fish each year
spending a further $1.8 billion annually.
The
Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation (FWPRDC)
provides a national, integrated research and development focus for
the Australian forest and wood products industry.
The
Geoffrey Gardiner Dairy Foundation was established in
2001 to increase the international competitiveness of the Victorian
dairy industry. The Foundation was named after Geoffrey Gardiner.
Horticulture
Australia (HAL) is a key marketing and research partner to the horticulture
industry. They work with individual horticultural industries to help
them plan, develop and manage programs that address the needs of their
industry, now and into the future.
The
International Fibre Centre (IFC) was officially opened on 31
March 1999 to support education, training and technology transfer programs
for the fibres and textiles industries. It is the only organisation in
Australia that provides funding for skills development specifically for
the textile industry.
The
Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), is the peak advocacy group for the
Australian minerals industry. The MCA represents companies in exploration,
mining and minerals processing, nationally and internationally. Their
member companies produce more than 85 per cent of Australia’s mineral
output.
The
Murray-Darling Basin Commission (MDBC) is the Executive arm of the Murray-Darling
Basin Ministerial Council. The Council is the partnership of six governments – New
South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, the Australian
Capital Territory and the Australian Government.
The
National Association of Forest Industries (NAFI)
was established in 1986 as an initiative of senior forest industry
executives, State Forest Services, State forest associations, unions
and CSIRO. Today NAFI’s vision is for an ecologically sustainable
Australian.
The
National Farmers' Federation (NFF) is the peak national body representing
farmers and, more broadly, agriculture across Australia – and
is one of Australia's foremost and respected lobbying and advocacy
organisations.
In
a world-first, the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments have
endorsed a new five- year National Environmental Sustainability Plan
by Australia’s publishers for the continuing support and promotion
of newspaper recycling.
The
Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria Limited (RAS)
makes a unique contribution to Victoria. Each year it connects the
country and the city through the Royal Melbourne Show, to showcase
the best in agriculture and rural lifestyle.
The
Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation
(RIRDC) was formed in 1990 to work in partnership with Australian
rural industries to manage and fund their research and development
needs.
